Job summary

Manchester Upholstery Services in Bury near Manchester is seeking an apprentice upholsterer to learn the craft hands-on in a family-run workshop. You will assist with reupholstery of chairs and sofas, cut fabrics, and help with finishing touches.

You will work under skilled craftspeople, gain practical experience, and complete apprenticeship training with coursework and assessments. No prior experience required; a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and reliability are valued, with 20 days

Responsibilities

• Re upholstery of chairs, sofas, and bespoke items.
• Re-covering of furniture, padding, and finishing.
• Cutting fabrics, preparing materials, fitting panels.
• Assisting with sewing machine work (cushions, covers, piping).
• Occasional bespoke projects.
• Use of all associated upholstery tools.
• Adhere to all working safely policies.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work area.
