Job description

We are seeking an Apprentice Quality Assurance Technician to support the Operations department. The role will be based in Pocklington initially, migrating to Howden mid‑2026. You will work 5 days a week: 4 days in the Quality Control laboratory and 1 day for apprenticeship study.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in resolving quality incidents and non‑conformances.
  • Support the production of KPIs for quality assurance processes, including incidents, non‑conformances, and customer complaints, and monitor them in the electronic log.
  • Help maintain the QC department's documentation system and records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop towards being the first point of contact for requests from the Regulatory Affairs department.
  • Provide quality support to plant operations as necessary.
  • Support the plant trials procedure in relation to quality assurance.
  • Assist in the process for third‑party analysis samples according to individual markets and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the production of appropriate certification for the registration and importation of YaraVita and YaraAmplix tested products where required.
  • Ensure all associated paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
Essential Qualifications
  • English and Maths grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem‑solving and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and balance priorities.
  • Discipline and self‑motivation to manage a challenging job and apprenticeship study.
  • Eligible to study for a Level 4 Quality Assurance Practitioner apprenticeship; candidates with an equivalent degree or qualification will not be considered due to government funding requirements.
