Job summary

Briarwood School is offering an apprenticeship for a Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to support pupils aged 3–19 with severe and profound learning difficulties. You will work under teachers, gain hands-on experience, and participate in a college-based training program.

You will join a strong LSA and teaching team, receiving induction and ongoing guidance. The role requires energy, confidence and a commitment to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Commitment to inclusion and ability to support learning for pupils with diverse needs.
• Energy, confidence and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
• Ability to work under guidance of teaching staff and follow plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for learning of individual children or groups to achieve targets.
• Follow lesson plans and report behaviour observations to teachers to maintain school discipline.
• Facilitate children's physical, emotional and educational development through activities and play.
• Supervise and encourage safe behaviour of individuals and groups.
• Prepare, store and display classroom materials to help create an effective learning environment.
