Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited (Newport) offers a four-year Software Engineering Apprenticeship. You will study toward a BSc Software Engineering Apprenticeship Degree provided by Cardiff University while contributing to cryptographic software development for national security systems.

From day one you rotate through departments, learn Airbus standards, and join a team delivering secure software for cryptographic devices and key management.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in software development and cryptography.
• Proven fundamentals in C/C++ and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of UML and software design patterns.
• Experience with agile development processes and estimation.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn software design and development to Airbus Defence & Space standards.
• Develop cryptographic devices and key management software.
• Work on embedded and Windows application software.
• Apply design decisions with cost/benefit trade-offs in mind.
• Contribute to software development plan estimation and resource allocation.
