Job description
Overview

As an Apprentice Agricultural Service Technician, you’ll learn how to maintain, service, and repair a wide range of agricultural machinery, working alongside our experienced team of technicians. You’ll spend time both in our workshop and on-site, as well as attending block release training at our approved training provider.

Salary and terms

Salary: £13,741 - £22,223 per annum (dependent on age)

Job Type & Hours: Apprenticeship/ Full-time/ Permanent/ Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.

Location: Carlisle Depot (CA1 2UR)

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the servicing, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment
  • Learn how to use diagnostic tools and follow technical manuals
  • Work alongside qualified technicians to develop hands-on skills and product knowledge
  • Support with workshop organisation and the safe use of tools and equipment
  • Attend college training sessions to complete your Level 2 qualification
  • Follow all health & safety guidelines and maintain a tidy, safe working environment
  • Carry out basic administrative tasks relating to service jobs

As part of the Level 2 qualification in Land-Based Service Engineering you will learn about, and get hands-on experience with, different John Deere machinery, inspections and diagnostics, intake and exhaust systems, cooling systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, and much more.

The apprenticeship course is delivered by ProVQ and involves several two week residential blocks of attendance at their site in Saxondale per year.
