Job summary

GEA invites applicants to join a 4-year Apprenticeship Programme to become an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer. Based in Nottingham, you will shadow experienced engineers, work with tools from day one, and travel to midlands sites to support service work.

As you progress, you will handle planned maintenance, breakdowns and lead service tasks, with later exposure to office tasks such as quoting, planning and prioritising. A full UK driving licence and a proactive attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Enrolment on a Level 3 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning pathway.
• GCSEs C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Keen interest in Engineering/Mechanical subjects.
• Inquisitive mindset, and proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Qualified Engineers and learn on the tools from Day 1.
• Attend customer sites for planned maintenance and breakdowns as part of the progression.
• Lead service tasks later in the program.
• Gain exposure to office activities: quoting, planning and prioritising tasks.

Job description

You will be joining a strong team with 8 Engineers based in Nottingham and expected to travel to various sites in the midlands Area where we handshake with the Spalding Service Branch. You will be enrolling on a 4-year program to develop you into an Industrial Refrigeration Field Service Engineer working across a wide verity of customer site covering a vast range of manufacturing process. For the first part of your program, you will spend all your time shadowing Qualified Engineers, learning on the tools & be expected to drive your own progress & development. The apprenticeship program is aimed to give an individual the opportunity to develop themselves & will rely on being inquisitive, asking questions and getting involved. The Apprenticeship Program is aimed to develop individuals to become Competent Industrial Refrigeration Engineers. Later, in the progress of your Apprenticeship you will be expected to attend sites to complete Planned Maintenance, Breakdowns and lead Service tasks. Then moving towards the final year of your Program, you will be expected to cover Standby with appropriate support. We will also aim to give you experience ''in the Office'' so you will be able to see both sides of the Service Branch Operation; quoting, problem solving, planning, and prioritising tasks based on severity.
