Job summary

Lowe Corp Europe, including Lowe Rental and PKL Group UK, offers a Level 2 Property Maintenance Apprenticeship in Cheltenham. One day per week at college and four days in the business over 18 months, plus a 3-month end point assessment to achieve the qualification.

During the apprenticeship you will learn fundamentals of modular unit maintenance, electrical and plumbing basics, external repairs and flooring, and you will gain hands-on experience across refurb projects to prepare for a future

Responsibilities

• Be a champion of brand standards.

• Undertake refurbishment work on Portable Buildings (roofing, flooring, carpentry, walls, painting, maintenance).
• Perform general maintenance on doors, windows, hatches, pipes, vents, and structures.
• Review technical drawings and plans.

Apprenticeship Summary

This apprenticeship schemes aligns directly with a Level 2 Property Maintenance Apprenticeship. 1 day per week at college and 4 days within our business over the course of 18 months plus 3 months end point assessment to achieve a Level 2 in Property Maintenance.

What’s in it for me?

You will learn and obtain experience in the fundamentals of modular unit maintenance, optimising unit conditions and quality. You will understand the mechanism of our units, including electrical, plumbing, external repairs, flooring as well as providing first and immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness.

Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will be taught, and put into practice, a variety of skills in maintenance which will be key for a role within our operations department here at PKL. Your apprenticeship will last for 21 months, during which time you will rotate across the refurb and quay to gain the relevant skillset to excel.

What will I be doing?

• Be a champion of brand standards
• Contribute to morning briefings with team members
• Undertake refurbishment work to Portable Buildings including roofing, flooring, carpentry, wall skinning, painting and maintenance
• Other associated maintenance works required to doors, windows, hatches, drainpipes, vents and general structural works to Portable Buildings.
• Review drawings

Subject to aspiration, performance and business requirement, you may have the opportunity to progress into a full‑time position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Where appropriate, you may also have the opportunity to experience business functions beyond Refurb—such as Kit Heaven and PSD to gain a well‑rounded understanding of our operations.

Regular time will be set aside for self‑reflection, performance reviews, and one‑to‑one meetings with your manager.

Qualifications

What do I need?

• A minimum of 5 GSCEs, achieved or predicted, A*- C or 9 – 4, including Maths and English
• Strong desire to learn and develop, using open thinking; able to easily adapt to new ways of working
• Good IT skills - A working knowledge of Microsoft office programs is sufficient
• Ideally able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, e.g. through part time employment and/or voluntary activities
