About The Role
  • This is an Apprenticeship position.
  • To carry out administration duties in a manner that supports departmental targets and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • To provide an efficient & effective procurement and supply service to the Trust in respect of a Materials Management service to a wards and departments.
  • To take responsibility for all electronic ordering / requisitioning for designated wards and departments.
  • Corresponding with suppliers & NHS SCCL ensuring that prices and deliveries are accurate and monitored.
Main duties

To provide an efficient & effective procurement and supply service to the Trust in respect of a Materials Management service to a wards and departments.

This includes:

  • the management of products and services required by wards and departments through materials management top ups and download to NHS supply chain using electronic data capture units;
  • e-procurement requisitions onto systems and creation into purchase orders for goods and services, ensuring the right goods are ordered from the right supplier at the right price to be delivered at the right time and to the right place;
  • stock is maintained at the appropriate re-order level using hand held data capture devices and inventory stock control systems;
  • management of the replenishing of stock;
  • development & review of ward / department materials management systems / stock control and stock requirements and the putting away of stock to agreed standards
Key Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English, minimum grade C or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with a team.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Good keyboard/computer skills.
  • Personal organisation skills including the ability to plan and prioritise.
