Apprentice Payroll and Pensions Officer (closing date: 16/12/25)

Year 1 - 60% of Grade 5 (SCP 7), year 2 - 75% of Grade 5 (SCP 7). Current 5 (SCP 7) salary is £26,403 per year.

Exciting opportunity to join the payroll team as an Apprentice Payroll & Pensions Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of the various payrolls for the City and County of Swansea via the Oracle system.
  • Record and maintain employee records to ensure that all changes and additions are properly authorised and paid in accordance with the Authority's policies and statutory procedures.
  • Assist with pension remuneration forms, working closely with the pensions section to provide the information required and help clear a backlog.
  • Work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced busy environment.
Qualifications
  • Will complete a Level 3 qualification with Gower College Swansea.
  • Ability to work agilely, with a mix of home working and office attendance.
