Job description

Working with our partners at Belfast Metropolitan College we are offering an exciting 2 year ICT Apprenticeship programme to provide people with the skills and experience required to take up opportunities in the ICT sector. This course will cover units in the following areas; computer networks, cyber security, fundamentals of IT, computer systems - hardware and software and IT technical support. Here in AMIC you'll have the opportunity to apply all this knowledge in to the real world at the bleeding edge of Advanced Manufacturing Innovation at our facilities on the Queen's Campus, Belfast's Titanic Quarter and opening in early 2026 our new 'Factory of the Future' Campus at Global Point in Newtownabbey.

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship the successful candidate will be supported in either continuing to a Level 5 (IT Higher Level Apprenticeship) or permanent employment. This could be either within AMIC, other areas of interest to the candidate within QUB or one of the many opportunities within the Northern Ireland IT/Manufacturing Sector to which they'll be fully equipped to succeed in.

Please note that successful candidates must be able to commence at Belfast Met within one week from interviews.

This is an exciting time to join AMIC as we seek to recruit a number of talented and highly motivated apprentices to join a newly developed Technician Apprenticeship Scheme.

We are looking for someone with a passion for IT and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to join established, dynamic and friendly teams.

To be successful at shortlisting your application must demonstrate that you have:

  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs, A* - C (9-4) or equivalent (eg. NVQ level 2), to include Maths & English. Demonstrable knowledge and interest in the field(s) of IT, Manufacturing, Technology, Electronics or Engineering.
  • Personal qualities such as a willingness to learn, a natural aptitude for problem solving and an ability to work both independently & as part of a Team are essential for successful candidate.
  • Proven basic knowledge of and adhering to regulations and procedures, including H&S requirements.
