Job summary

GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Heavy Mechanic based in Johnstone. This is a full‑time role with the Modern Apprenticeship Programme, allowing you to earn while you learn in a garage workshop.

You will train through GTG to SCQF Level 7 in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with week block release and regular workplace assessments to support your development.

Qualifications

• National 4 or higher in English and Maths.
• One science or technical subject at National 4 or better.
• Interest in automotive maintenance and learning on the job.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance in a garage setting.
• Assist with servicing, MOT preparation, removal and overhaul of major components.
• Diagnose faults and work under supervision in a training environment.
• Attend training centre for block release while undertaking on‑site assessments.
