Job summary

British Gas is recruiting a Gas Installations Apprentice to learn and perform practical installation work across the UK. You will gain hands-on experience under experienced engineers, while achieving recognised qualifications and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll join a programme with a starting salary and progression to a higher salary after completion, including London weighting where applicable, and an expensed van for work use.

• 4 GCSEs (or Scottish Nat 5s) at grade C/4 or above, ideally including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification
• A CV that shows your enthusiasm for learning a hands-on trade, a natural mechanical or technical interest, and a genuine commitment to delivering great customer service
• A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Availability to attend training at our UK-wide academies, with provided accommodation and travel if needed
• This is a physical role involving lifting, bending and working at height and in confined spaces, including handling heavy equipment such as boilers and radiators
• A starting salary of £19,307 which will continue to rise as you hit specific milestones during your apprenticeship
• Once you have completed the full programme and aftercare support your salary will increase to £45,806 with bonus and add-ons on top
• We also offer London Weighting Allowance ranging from £4,327 to £6,490 (dependent on location) for living or starting your day within London
• An expensed electric van for you to use for work, including an EV charge point where applicable & charge card
