Job summary

A large healthcare organization in Wrexham is offering an apprenticeship for Healthcare Assistants, providing full training to help individuals start a career in nursing. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience while supporting trained staff in patient care, demonstrating compassion and a commitment to the healthcare environment. Qualifications include GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent, with opportunities for vocational qualifications within two years. This is a full-time, paid apprenticeship over 24 months.

Job Summary

Eligibility Criteria for Government Funded Apprenticeship Schemes

Main Duties of the Job

Healthcare Assistant Apprentices will receive appropriate training and guidance to undertake the full range of duties, including assisting trained staff in delivering care to patients at their most vulnerable times. Responsibilities include ensuring dignity and respect is maintained throughout, assisting patients to meet their personal care needs, providing meals and drinks, carrying out general cleaning in the clinical environment, preparing bed spaces, and cleaning equipment. The role requires good communication skills and effective teamwork. Staff will be supported to complete mandatory training.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
