About the Apprenticeship

This is a Level 2 Floorlaying Apprenticeship . It develops the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to fit different types of flooring to high quality and safety standards. Training will be delivered by Webs Training and FITA, a specialist provider for the industry.

The Role

As a Floorlaying Apprentice at Saint Flooring Ltd you will work alongside experienced craftspeople, gradually taking on more responsibility as you gain skills and confidence. Your duties will include:

• Assist with preparing subfloors, including cleaning, levelling, and applying adhesives.
• Learn to measure, cut, and fit flooring materials such as carpets, vinyl, and rubber.
• Install underlays, trims, and finishes to achieve a high-quality result.
• Work safely with hand tools and cutting equipment.
• Follow site safety regulations and maintain a clean workspace.
• Develop knowledge of different flooring materials and their applications.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Attend college/training sessions as required to complete your apprenticeship standard.

What You’ll Learn

During the apprenticeship you’ll gain:

• Knowledge of different flooring types and fittings.
• Skills in measuring, marking out, cutting, fitting, and prepping.
• Understanding of different fitting techniques, quality standards and health & safety.

Training and Support

• The apprenticeship typically lasts around 24 months plus preparation for End-Point Assessment.
• Training is delivered both on the job at Saint Flooring Ltd and at FITA in Loughborough on block-release.
• You will be supported and mentored by experienced floorlayer and assessed regularly by Webs Training.

• Basic literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent, or willingness to work towards them if 18 and don't already have them).

Progression: On successful completion of the apprenticeship you may progress to more advanced roles or positions within Saint Flooring Ltd or the wider industry.

Pay: £7.55 per hour may increase depending on performance

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7.00am - 4.00pm
