Job summary

Busy Bees seeks Early Years Apprentices to learn and grow within our Sutton nursery. You will plan and deliver activities under the EYFS framework, support high-quality childcare, and build strong relationships with children and families.

A supportive mentor will guide your development; a four-day week option, staff parking, and a generous childcare discount are among benefits. Rolling interviews and progressive training are offered.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about childcare and start a career in Early Years.
• To meet funding eligibility, UK resident for at least the last 3 consecutive years.
• Evidence of Maths and English achievements (GCSE Maths and English grade 3/D or above or Level 2 Functional Skills).

Responsibilities

• Help plan and deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities following EYFS.
• Support the team to provide high-quality childcare and positive learning experiences.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Ensure children’s individual needs are understood and met.
• Contribute to safeguarding of all children.
• Work toward completing your Busy Bees Education and Training apprenticeship within the expected timeframe.

About our Nursery
Cheam Sutton, rated Good by Ofsted, is a small nursery with a capacity of 42 children, featuring a longstanding team that is passionate about providing the best start in life for each child. Our close-knit staff operates like a family, fostering a supportive environment and participating in team bonding days. We collaborate with outside agencies to offer classes for children, enhancing their learning experience. As an apprentice, you will:

• Work proactively toward completing your apprenticeship provided by Busy Bees Education and Training within the expected timeframe
• Show enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to your own development

Essential Criteria

To apply, you must:

• Be passionate about childcare and motivated to start a career in Early Years
• To meet funding eligibility, you must have been a resident in the UK for at least the 3 consecutive years
• Be able to provide evidence of Maths and English achievements (GCSE Maths and English grade 3/D or above or Level 2 Functional Skills)

Desirable Criteria (not essential)

• A Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
