Job summary

Busy Bees Nurseries in Reading is offering an Early Years Apprenticeship opportunity designed to launch your career in childcare. You will learn on the job, plan age-appropriate activities, and gain hands-on experience under mentorship from experienced Early Years professionals.

The role emphasizes development through the EYFS framework, ongoing training, and a supportive team culture; a 3-year UK residency criterion applies for funding eligibility.

Qualifications

• Passion for childcare and starting a career in Early Years.
• Be able to show Maths and English achievements (GCSE Maths and English grade 3/D or above or Level 2 Functional Skills).
• UK resident for the last 3 consecutive years to meet funding eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and deliver age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework.
• Support the team to provide high-quality childcare and positive learning experiences for all children.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure children’s individual needs are understood and met.
• Contribute to the safeguarding of all children.
• Work toward completing your apprenticeship provided by Busy Bees Education and Training within the expected timeframe.
• Show enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to your own development.

About Our Nursery

Busy Bees Reading Holme Park, rated Good by Ofsted, accommodates 56 children and offers a nurturing environment that supports early childhood development. We enhance learning experiences with visits from the local library, which contributes to our storytime and song group activities. Conveniently located near a local bus route on the main road, our nursery is just a 15-minute walk from the town centers of Reading, Woodley, and Twyford. Essential Criteria

• Be passionate about childcare and motivated to start a career in Early Years
• To meet funding eligibility, you must have been a resident in the UK for at least the 3 consecutive years
• Be able to provide evidence of Maths and English achievements (GCSE Maths and English grade 3/D or above or Level 2 Functional Skills)

Desirable Criteria (not Essential)

• A Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
