Job summary

Durham County Council offers an Apprenticeship as an Economic Development Administrator in County Durham. You will learn and develop the skills to deliver regeneration and economic development projects and help the retail sector in town and village centres.

The role includes working within the Community Economic Development Team and the Employment and Skills Team. Your day-to-day work includes a range of digital, system and ICT tasks, with training provided on all processes and procedures.

Apprentice (Economic Development Administrator)

Are you interested in improving the economic well-being and quality of life for the community of County Durham ? Then an Apprenticeship as an Economic Development Assistant could be for you!

As an Apprentice (Economic Development Administrator) you will learn and develop the skills to be responsible for the delivery of physical regeneration and economic development projects and learn how to engage and provide business support to the retail sector in our towns and village centres. The Economic Development Administrator will develop their skills by working within the Community Economic Development Team and the Employment and Skills Team.

Your day-to-day duties will include a range of digital, system, and ICT tasks related to a range of service functions.

You will be trained on all systems, processes, and procedures which apply to the role. This will be via on the job, shadowing, and formal in person and virtual training sessions to gain knowledge and understanding of the role and scope of the service.

Your normal place of work will be Green Lane Spennymoor but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.

What qualification will I gain?

You will study towards the Business Administrator Level 3 with DurhamLearn.

What will I need?

You must have good communication and ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
