Job summary

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is offering a full-time apprenticeship for Early Years Educators in Stroud. Join our village playgroup to provide a fun and educational environment for children aged 2 ½ – 4 years, with approximately 24 hours a week, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This role includes hands-on experience, creative activities planning, and compliance with safety policies. Candidates need to pass an enhanced DBS and provide references. Regular training is part of the program.

Qualifications

• Must pass an enhanced DBS.
• Provide two references.

Responsibilities

• Set up activities to welcome the children, that are fun, and in line with planning.
• Risk-assess play room and garden, to ensure safety.
• Meet and greet parents/children, being welcoming and friendly.
• Follow policies and procedures promoting positive behaviour.
• Engage in activities with the children to expand their knowledge.
• Work as part of a small team to complete daily tasks.
• Maintain a safe environment at all times.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands‑on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

• Meet and greet parents/children, being welcoming and friendly
• Follow policies and procedures at all time, promoting positive behaviour, in line with our policy

• Work as part of a small, close‑knit team, to complete daily tasks, such as circle time, snack and lunch
• Maintain a safe environment at all times
