We’re looking for up to two enthusiastic and creative Chef De Partie apprentices to join our kitchen team. This is your chance to learn new skills, gain a recognised qualification, and get paid while you train — all in a fun, family-focused environment!

Hours: 4 days per week (including weekends on a rota)

About Us

We’re a vibrant and family-friendly Soft Play Centre near Wymondham, dedicated to delivering a fun, safe, and memorable experience for children and their grown‑ups. Our café serves fresh, tasty food and barista‑style drinks throughout the day, providing welcome fuel for playtime!

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and confident Chef/Cook to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a lively environment, preparing simple but delicious dishes, and leading a small team to deliver excellent customer service.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen as well as supporting the General Manager with day‑to‑day centre operations. While confidence in the kitchen is essential, full training will be provided on our menu, safety procedures, and supervisory duties.

Whether you’re passionate about cooking or ready for a fresh start in a fast‑paced industry, this is the perfect opportunity to explore your future.

What you’ll be learning:
  • Prepare and serve high-quality food to order, ensuring excellent presentation and consistency
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised kitchen environment
  • Monitor stock levels, receive deliveries, and minimise food waste
  • Help manage daily operations including customer service, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Ensure all food hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed
  • Assist with opening or closing procedures as required
What We’re Looking For:
  • A friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the role
  • Flexibility to work weekends on a rota (our busiest times!)
What We Offer:
  • Full training and ongoing support
  • A free meal each working shift
  • Opportunities for career development and progression
  • Fun, inclusive and family-focused working environment
  • Staff discounts and perks

If you’re passionate about great food and great customer experiences—and enjoy working where no two days are ever the same—we’d love to hear from you!
