A leading apprenticeship provider in Buckfastleigh seeks a motivated Building Services Engineer Apprentice. You will create detailed designs, use computer modelling software, and participate in site surveys while attending Exeter College for your Level 3 qualification. Strong communication skills and a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths are essential for this role, which offers opportunities for career advancement in engineering.
Building Services engineers get creative with colleagues, architects, and other construction professionals, playing a key role in the delivery of a building’s design. As an apprentice, your day-to-day tasks will vary and you will gain experience in many aspects of our work. You’ll learn how to produce detailed designs and drawings, use the latest computer modelling software, undertake site surveys, and research ground‑breaking technologies. You will learn how to use industry software to help draw, calculate and model how buildings perform. You will review the detail of these outputs with team members and learn how to use the results to influence both engineering systems and building form. You will use Microsoft Office to help present and communicate your solutions. You will support and learn from more senior colleagues, helping them with their engineering by researching topics, preparing presentations and drafting reports. You will need to communicate with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.
You will attend Exeter College one day per week during term time to work towards your Building Services Engineer Technician Level 3 Apprenticeships.
GCSE or equivalent 4/c or above in English and Maths.
In the short term we would want the candidate to progress to Engineering Technician Level and then to Senior Technician, as well gaining (EngTech) status. If the candidate has the desire to develop to a higher level, we can support them to become an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
