Job summary

Higherin is offering a placement year at Aldermaston, near Reading, combining physics, mathematics and computation to solve complex problems. You’ll work onsite in an office, laboratory and site environment, with a focus on radiation science, modelling and data analysis.

We’re looking for candidates graduating in 2029 or 2030 with a 2:2 in relevant fields, UK national with DV clearance capability. Start date is 2 August 2027 and applications close on 31 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Pursuing at least a 2:2 degree in Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Structural Engineering or Computer Science.
• Graduating in 2029 or 2030.
• Willing to obtain DV security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with radiation science tasks using experimental and computational methods.
• Support physics modelling and data analysis for mission-relevant projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams onsite at Aldermaston.
• Engage in algorithmic development and computational problem solving.
