Senior Applied Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychologist:
Urgent Care - Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) - One Post in Dudley, Walsall or Sandwell CRHTT's
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Applied Psychologist to join the CRHTT in BCHFT. One 0.6 WTE has become available based in one of our CRHTTs in Sandwell, Dudley or Walsall. Applicants to any of these locations are welcome, however some cross‑locality work may also be required based on clinical need.
You will join fast‑paced MDT environments to work in the least restrictive way to support service users presenting with acute and urgent care mental health needs. Psychology has been well embedded into the foundations of the CRHTT and as the Psychologist, you will exercise your leadership skills in psychological assessments, formulation, care planning and brief psychological interventions.
We have strong links with local universities across the clinical, forensic and counselling courses. Relationships have been established with other organisations with connections into a national psychology group for Trauma Interventions in Acute Settings.
The successful candidate will be part of a group of Psychologists in Urgent Care who are based across acute settings including CRHTT, in‑patients, mental health liaison services and PICU. The successful candidate will be supported with supervision and opportunities for CPD.
You will support the Principal Psychologist for CRHTT and the Consultant Psychologist for Urgent Care in the delivery of psychology in CRHTT. Based in the CRHTT, you will join a team of multidisciplinary professionals in working with people experiencing a mental health crisis. With the two main aims of preventing hospital admission and facilitating early discharge you will offer assessments, formulation, care planning and short‑term interventions to clients with high levels of risk. Psychology also supports team members through regular reflective practice groups and supervision and this is highly valued by our MDT colleagues.
We are looking for someone who can work flexibly and creatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment.
We would welcome applications from newly qualified psychological practitioners who are keen to gain experience in urgent care settings and can offer band 7‑8a developmental opportunities where appropriate.
