Job summary

J.P. Morgan in the United Kingdom seeks an Applied AI Lead to drive AI initiatives across Corporate Functions.

You will blend research, engineering and data science to source, analyze and integrate data sources, develop models and deploy solutions on public cloud for a large employee base. You will guide end-to-end AI product development, lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while advancing a stack centered on LLMs,

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in any STEM subject.
• Practical research experience applying AI to real-world problems.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Ability to lead technical teams and communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience applying large language models and agentic systems in industry.
• Graph technologies including databases and graph analytics frameworks.
• Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and its applications.
• Exposure to public cloud technologies and microservice deployment.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• User interface design and development experience using React.

Job description

As an Applied AI Lead in our cross-functional team you will use your applied research, engineering and data science expertise to lead AI initiatives in the Corporate Functions. You will collaborate with technology and business partners to source, analyze and integrate diverse data sources; develop & evaluate models; architect, implement & deploy software solutions to public cloud infrastructure benefiting over 200k employees across the firm.

You’ll solve business problems by creating and extending products to surface insights from a wide and ever-increasing range of data sources including news, company filings, non-government organization reports and market data. You’ll care about producing high-quality, maintainable AI solutions and be keen to develop skills across a broad and evolving technology stack centered on Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Agentic systems, Python and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Job responsibilities:
