Job description

A fantastic permanent opportunity for a Business Applications Manager has arisen working for an award winning, growing Legal organisation located in West Sussex. The main purpose of the role is managing and running a small team of four, you will be accountable for the systems analysis, design, delivery, support and maintenance. Maintaining high quality, high availability and highly secure IT software applications.

Being the main point of communication with in-house development, analysis while using third party, off the shelf solutions for maximum commercial benefit. Working with a mixture of CMS such as ShareDo, iManage and Sharepoint.

You will be responsible for all workflow, case management and matter management software solutions and business applications, including all web and software developments. All transactional data created by the applications and the optimissation of data management.

Overseeing the financial application in conjunction with the Finance Systems Manager. Being responsible for the strategy, evaluation and delivery of value from all Microsoft 365 technologies and tools and other enterprise platforms available. Third line support of all applications and application strategy.

This is a management position but will require some 'hands on' applications work to be completed as and when required. Being a brand-new and progressive role, this is a great opportunity to bring your experience to a growing business and make your mark on the role and IT department. Working closely with the senior IT Managers, you will be heavily involved with the strategic side of the business's applications.

The role offers hybrid working of two days in the office and three days working from home every week. There is a competitive salary, and great company benefits of offer.

Skills/experience and attributes required:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Solid experience in a business-aligned workflow and software application development environment
  • Proven and substantial management experience within a professional services environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience of solving up to third line application queries
  • Outstanding communication skills verbally and written
  • Experience of working in a law firm are highly desirable
  • Ability to coach and mentor develop staff
  • Strong commercial understanding to be able to strategically approach and build decisions for the commercial benefit of the firm
  • Strong understanding of agile software development processes and test and deployment frameworks to suit the development needs of the business
  • Familiar with Secure by Design principles and able to implement across a team and department
