Job description

IN SHORT

As an Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining business-critical middle and back-office applications that underpin SEFE's trading operations. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will ensure application stability, deliver release and change activities, resolve incidents, and provide high-quality technical support that enables business teams to operate effectively and efficiently.

What Will You Do
  • Provide operational support across a portfolio of middle and back-office applications, managing incidents and service requests while ensuring timely resolution and excellent service delivery.
  • Lead problem management activities by identifying root causes, implementing short-term workarounds, and working with development teams to deliver sustainable long-term solutions.
  • Manage major production incidents from identification through to resolution, coordinating stakeholders, providing regular communications, and minimising business disruption.
  • Support application releases and change activities, including code deployments, environment management, change approvals, and post-release validation across production and non-production environments.
  • Monitor application performance, availability, and end-of-day processing activities, proactively identifying opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with business users, vendors, and technology teams while maintaining high-quality operational documentation, knowledge repositories, and support processes.
What Will You Bring
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications within a complex IT environment, plus if it's within the energy trading, commodities, or financial services sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, web technologies, and application support best practices, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and service request management; ITIL certification is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, trade lifecycle processes, and key industry concepts such as P&L, settlement, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across business and technology teams.
