Overview
We're looking for a motivated and adaptable School Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll provide IT support for a Multi‑Academy Trust (MAT) delivering Primary, Secondary, and Post‑16 education in Seaford, East Sussex, ensuring the smooth operation of their IT services.
What You’ll Do
- Provide advanced desk‑side IT support for a large MAT customer as part of our Educational Services team across three geographically separate locations within Seaford, East Sussex.
- Diagnose and resolve IT issues for staff and students, both in person and remotely.
- Maintain and update hardware, software, and network systems as required.
- Provide end‑user support for various IT applications.
- Contribute to IT projects and implement new technologies as needed.
- Provide on‑demand support across multiple sites, attending as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Right to work in the UK.
- Minimum 1 year of IT support experience in a corporate or educational environment, or completion of an IT apprenticeship in a similar setting.
- Solid understanding of IT fundamentals (hardware, software, networking, and server technologies).
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server (including File & Print Services, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, etc.), Windows 10/11 (intermediate to advanced support), PC hardware repairs (laptops and desktops), and Audio/Visual systems (Smartboards, projectors, visualisers, speaker systems).
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
- Proactive and team‑oriented approach.
- Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision on day‑to‑day activities.
- Full‑UK driving licence and own vehicle insured for business use (business mileage paid at HMRC rates); offer of employment contingent upon passing Enhanced DBS checks.
- Bonus: Experience working in an educational environment, knowledge of Cisco Meraki LAN/Wi‑Fi infrastructure, relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365/Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA), familiarity with school‑specific applications (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, EdulinkOne, 4Matrix).
