Job summary

BUKO Traffic & Safety, based in West London, is seeking an Application Manager to oversee the management, support and continuous improvement of business applications, ensuring reliability, security and alignment with Group IT strategy.

Acting as the key link between UK operations, software suppliers and Group IT, the postholder will ensure applications continue to meet business requirements and deliver value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the Company's business-critical applications (ERP, finance, HR, planning, ops).
  • Ensure applications are reliable, secure and available with high service levels.
  • Translate operational requirements into practical system improvements.
  • Coordinate changes, upgrades, releases, testing and user acceptance to minimise disruption.
  • Maintain application documentation, processes and support procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, cyber security, GDPR and data governance.

Role Overview

The Application Manager is responsible for the management, support and continuous improvement of the Company's business applications. The role ensures that business systems remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose, while supporting operational efficiency and aligning with the wider Group IT strategy. Acting as the key link between the UK business, software suppliers and Group IT, the postholder will ensure applications continue to meet business requirements and deliver value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, support and continuously improve the Company's business-critical applications, including ERP, finance, HR, planning and operational systems.
  • Ensure applications are reliable, secure and available, delivering a high standard of service to users.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand operational requirements and translate these into practical system improvements.
  • Coordinate system changes, upgrades, releases, testing and user acceptance to minimise disruption to business operations.
  • Maintain appropriate application documentation, processes and support procedures.
  • Ensure applications comply with Company IT policies, cyber security requirements, GDPR and data governance standards.
  • Manage relationships with software suppliers, third-party support providers and implementation partners, monitoring service delivery against agreed standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders in relation to application support, development and issue resolution.
  • Support business projects involving new systems, integrations and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through better use of technology and system functionality.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Good understanding of business processes and enterprise application management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of supplier, project and change management.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in an Application Manager, Business Systems Analyst, Functional Consultant or similar role.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems and other business-critical applications.
  • Experience working with third-party software suppliers and managing application support arrangements.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems or a related discipline is desirable but not essential. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Professional qualifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, ASL or BiSL are desirable.

Hours of Work:Monday to Friday 07:30-16:30 with 30mins for lunch (42.5hrs per week)
