Overview

We are looking for an Applications Engineer/Technologist for our engineering client in Slough. This role is fully onsite and pays 55-65k per year.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine applications for UV equipment across a range of use cases
• Conduct research and literature reviews to inform application development
• Perform CFD simulations using ANSYS to evaluate and optimize system performance
• Lead and execute practical on-site studies in collaboration with global partners
• Collect, analyze, and present data from trials and modelling activities
• Develop tools and guidance to support product sizing and specification
• Identify emerging application opportunities and contribute to investment prioritization
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-focused language
• Support the creation of technical and commercial materials for both internal and external audiences
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, commercial, and product teams to deliver integrated solutions

Candidate requirements

• Degree or PhD in engineering, physics, or related field
• Experience with computer-based modelling (CFD, MATLAB, Python)
• Skilled in research and literature review, combining public and internal data
• Excellent with data: analysis, interpretation, and clear presentation of results
• Product management exposure with commercial awareness
• Strong communicator; can simplify complex technology for any audience
• Ability to manage and perform practical on-site studies
• Collaborative and customer-focused mindset

Preferred

• Project management experience
• CFD using ANSYS tools
• Familiar with photobiological and photochemical processes
• Scripting for data processing and automation
