Sales / Applications Engineer

Location: Fareham

Type: Full-time | Permanent

Are you a technically minded engineer with a passion for customer service and problem-solving? We’re looking for a Sales / Applications Engineer to join our growing team, supporting customers and our front-end sales force with technical expertise across a range of heat exchange products.

About the Role

As a Sales / Applications Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the sales process with in-depth technical and application knowledge. You’ll be the link between our customers and our front-end sales team—helping to turn enquiries into accurate, value-driven proposals.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Preparing detailed quotations and technical proposals across a range of HVAC Products
• Providing technical guidance and application advice to both customers and internal teams
• Managing customer enquiries, offering timely and accurate responses to support business growth
• Liaising with colleagues across Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service departments
• Contributing ideas to improve products, services, and internal processes
• Occasionally attending exhibitions, site visits, and industry events

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines technical know-how with great communication and organisational skills. You’ll be confident handling customer enquiries and enjoy finding solutions that make a real difference.

Essential skills & experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the selection and application of equipment used in the refrigeration and/or air conditioning industry
• SAP experience and familiarity with CRM/order processing software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to prioritise and perform under pressure
• Fluent in English

Application Engineers requirements

• HNC or higher qualification in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Engineering
• Previous experience in a front-line customer service or technical sales environment
• Technically curious and solution-oriented
• A team player who thrives in collaboration but can also work independently
• Detail-focused with a proactive mindset
