Job summary

A finance consultancy is seeking a hybrid Finance Business Analyst/Project Manager to lead finance transformation initiatives in the UK. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in transactional finance, AP, AR, and Cash Management processes, driving operational efficiency and embedding a culture of improvement. This interim role offers a day rate of £450-£550 and is expected to last 6-9 months.

Qualifications

  • Proven transactional finance (AP / AR and Cash Management) transformation experience as a BA/PM designing and delivering change.
  • Experience automating key finance processes within AP / AR / Cash Management.
  • Business Analyst experience, mapping and designing business processes end-to-end.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and develop project charters aligned with transformation goals.
  • Collaborate with SMEs/Process Owners to document processes and system requirements.
  • Define and manage project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

Job Overview

We are looking for a hybrid Finance Business Analyst/Project Manager specialising in transactional finance (AP, AR, and Cash Management) to join on an interim basis. Location: 3 days a week in Southampton. Day rate: £450-£550pd Outside IR35. Contract length: 6-9 months initially.

Finance Business Analyst/Project Manager (AP / AR / Cash Management)

Role Purpose

The role offers the opportunity to lead finance transformation alongside the Head of Transactional Finance within our AP, AR & Cash Management functions. We are looking for a forward-thinking individual to assess current processes, drive operational efficiency, and lead a strategic workstream as part of our Finance Transformation programme. The goal is to enhance efficiency, simplify operations, and embed a culture of sustainable improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scope and develop project charters aligned with transformation goals alongside Process Owners and Head of Finance Transformation
  • Collaborate with SMEs/Process Owners to document As-Is processes and system requirements
  • Design future To-Be processes that align with strategic objectives
  • Define and manage project milestones, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track progress and report status updates to the Head of Finance Transformation
  • Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, validate designs, and drive stakeholder engagement
Requirements
  • Proven transactional finance (AP / AR and Cash Management) transformation experience as a BA/PM designing and delivering people, process and technology change
  • Strong AP / AR / Cash Management process design/transformation experience
  • Experience automating key finance processes within AP / AR / Cash Management
  • Post-acquisition R2R/finance integration experience is a big bonus
  • High EQ and strong communications needed - experience in an unstructured, immature to change business
  • Business Analyst experience, mapping and designing business processes end-to-end
  • Project Management experience managing project plans, timelines and interdependencies for finance transformation initiatives
