Protocol National Ltd., trading as Protocol, is seeking an enthusiastic Animal Care Lecturer to join the School of Animal Care and Land Management. The role is part-time and permanent, based across campuses in West Yorkshire, with a pro rata salary of 19,149–21,547 per annum.

You will plan and deliver lessons, develop resources, and support learners across FE to HE programmes. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Animal Care (or related subject), a teaching qualification or be working

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Animal Care or a related subject.
• A recognised teaching qualification, or commitment to work towards one.
• Recent and relevant industry or teaching experience in FE or schools.
• Up-to-date subject knowledge in Animal Care.
• English and Maths Level 2 or above.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Flexibility to work across campuses and with learners at varying levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and schemes of work.
• Create high-quality teaching, learning and assessment resources.
• Deliver sessions across Animal Care programmes using varied teaching methods.
• Set clear learning targets and provide timely feedback to support progress.
• Monitor learner achievement and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with students, providing guidance and support.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
• Work collaboratively within a curriculum team.
• Promote positive behaviour and restorative practice in teaching and interactions.
