Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated Animal Care Lecturer to join an educational team in Cheshire. The role involves designing and delivering lessons, assessing student performance, and contributing to curriculum development. Ideal candidates will possess a qualified teaching qualification or be committed to attaining it, alongside GCSE English and Maths. Strong classroom management skills are essential. This is a temporary position starting in January 2026.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teaching Qualification essential or commitment to obtain.
  • Experience teaching in Further Education or similar settings is required.
  • Up to date knowledge of Ofsted and QAA regulations is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver lessons in Animal Care across levels 1 to 3.
  • Assess, monitor and report on students' progress.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within the team.

Animal Care Lecturer

The Role

Our client is looking for an inspired and committed Lecturer to join our team. You will design, deliver, and assess high-quality early years educational programmes, supporting students to achieve outstanding outcomes. You will play a key role in shaping and refining our curriculum, assessment methods, and learner progression pathways, ensuring that courses meet regulatory requirements and embody best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in Animal Care across L1 - L3.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on learners' progress; provide timely feedback.
  • Participate in staff development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Up to date knowledge of the Ofsted and QAA for Higher Education Inspectorate process.
Education, Skills and Requirements
  • Qualified Teaching Qualification, i.e. DTLLS, Cert. Ed/PGCE, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).
  • GCSE A* - C in English and Maths qualifications (Grades 9 - 4) or equivalent.
  • TAQA (401 and 402) or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).
  • Experience teaching within Further Education or similar educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and current industry practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and classroom management skills.
