Job summary

Vets Now in Farnham is seeking a Part Time Animal Care Assistant to support our clinical teams in an emergency hospital environment. You will help maintain a comfortable and stress-free in-patient area, work across shifts, and assist with basic procedures.

You will be under the supervision of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons, handle patients for basic procedures, assist in theatres, and ensure essential care and husbandry for in-patients.

Qualifications

• Assist clinical teams with in-patient care in an emergency clinic.
• Work under Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons guidance.
• Handle patients for basic procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Assist in setting up and clearing theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensure basic husbandry needs are met for in-patients.

Key Responsibilities

As an Animal Care Assistant at Vets Now, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clinical teams with providing a comfortable and stress-free in-patient environment whilst negotiating busy shifts in an emergency clinic. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.
• Handling patients for basic procedures and assisting with running diagnostic tests.
• Assisting in setting up and clearing down theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensuring all in-patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to.

Working pattern

Every Monday to Thursday from 06:00 to 09:00

Every other Saturday from 18:00 to 00:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
