This role in Sevenoaks has been created to support our growing team and provide the right person with the platform to make a real difference to pets, clients and colleagues — with the confidence, autonomy and support to match.

The Role

This is animal care at its most meaningful. Working alongside a skilled and compassionate clinical team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every patient receives exceptional care and comfort. From hands‑on support during procedures to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control, your work will underpin everything we do.

You’ll help keep each day running smoothly — assisting with patient handling, feeding and monitoring, maintaining accurate records, and helping clients feel supported throughout their pet’s journey.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide excellent care and welfare for in‑patients, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses during consultations and procedures
  • Maintain clinical and client areas to a high standard of hygiene and organisation
  • Prepare, feed and monitor patients — including hand feeding those in recovery
  • Support with general cleaning, laundry and infection control throughout the practice
  • Use computer systems to help manage patient records and communicate with clients
  • Be able to get directly involved with how our clients interact with us through technology and social media
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, always embodying Pennard Vets’ values of clarity, compassion and unity
About You

You’re caring, proactive and motivated to make a difference. You bring empathy and patience to every interaction — whether with pets, clients or colleagues — and you’re always looking to learn and grow. You thrive in a busy, supportive environment and take
pride in delivering the best care possible.

  • A passion for animal welfare and client care
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible, reliable and confident handling animals
  • Keen to develop within an independent, forward‑thinking practice
What You’ll Get
  • Salary: £25,396.80
  • Enhanced benefits after probation
  • Employee ownership – have a real stake in the practice’s direction
  • Funded CPD and clear development pathways (including routes to veterinary nursing)
  • Discounts on pet care and products
  • The chance to grow your career within a progressive, independent, employee‑owned practice
