Job summary

IVC Evidensia in Dundee seeks an Animal Care Assistant to join Blackness Vets on a full-time permanent basis. You will support the clinical team in delivering high standards of patient and client care, helping to ensure the practice runs smoothly and safely.

You will work under a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, assisting with inpatient care, patient handling, and maintaining clinical areas and equipment while contributing to a compassionate experience for patients and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with animals in either a clinical or non-clinical setting is advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to develop within a veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Animal Care Assistant to join our team at Blackness Vets on a full-time permanent basis.

Blackness Veterinary Surgery is situated in the Heart of Dundee with close links to the Bus and Train Stations. Perth, Fife and Aberdeen are within a 1-hour car journey away. The practice is a large newly renovated building with various facilities including 2 operating theatres, with piped oxygen, an imaging suite with X-ray and top of the range Ultrasound, dental suite with Dental X-ray facilities, an endoscopy unit, in-house lab equipment, a large training room, where we host regular lunch and learns / team meetings.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

• Working Tuesdays to Saturday. Tuesday - Friday 8.30-5.30 and Saturday 8.30-2
