Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is looking for an Android Engineer to join the core Android team, shaping the next generation of our mobile apps. You will work across the full software lifecycle, from product discussions to release.

You will write clean, scalable code in Kotlin, use Jetpack Compose, implement architecture patterns, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. This role offers impactful work in a fast-paced, international tech environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for Android apps.
• Experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVI/MVVM.
• Strong testing skills with integration and unit tests.
• Experience integrating with microservices APIs and server-side services.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Android applications as part of the core team.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver features.
• Contribute to CI/CD and release processes to ensure reliable app delivery.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback to peers.

About this role:

You'll work as part of the core android team with a wide range of responsibilities. At times you'll be involved in developing features in our apps , but within the core team there are also opportunities to be involved in configuring our CI system, driving the direction of architecture, helping improve and design our development process and making sure we can reliably release apps to the Google play and Huawei app stores.

Your involvement spans the entire software development lifecycle, from liaising with product managers and UX designers to discussing solutions and enhancing our app module. This role also provides the opportunity to actively contribute to the vibrant engineering community at Just Eat Takeaway.com. • Design, develop, and maintain software applications: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code: Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure software maintainability and performance.

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback: Review peers’ code for quality, security, and adherence to project guidelines, and incorporate feedback into your work.

• Debug and resolve software defects and issues: Identify, analyse, and fix bugs in a timely manner to ensure smooth software operation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members: Communicate effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and contribute to project planning.

• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment: Implement and/or contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes, ensuring reliable software delivery.
