Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd is hiring an enthusiastic kitchen assistant to join our kitchen team in a part-time role. You will help prepare and serve meals, assist the head cook and maintain hygiene standards across the kitchen.

We offer training, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for career progression within our family-run group across Shropshire, Cheshire and Wirral.

Qualifications

• Must be positive, enthusiastic and professional in a care setting.
• Good communication with residents and team members is essential.
• Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Support head cook to follow food hygiene regulations.
• Keep kitchen area clean and meets hygiene standards.
• Record food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures under supervision.
• Be aware of residents' dietary preferences and needs.

About you:

You will be positive, enthusiastic, and professional and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure our residents receive high quality service. We need someone who is self-motivated and has excellent communication skills.

Desired but not essential:

• Food and hygiene certificate
• Previous experience in a similar role however training will be provided

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Assisting the head cook to ensure that food is prepared in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
• Helping to keep the kitchen area and equipment clean and to the standard for food hygiene.
• Under guidance of head cook, maintaining accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures
• Being aware of varied preferences and dietary requirements of individual residents
