Overview

CNBC is seeking an experienced anchor based in London to anchor Squawk Box Europe and generate enterprise business stories, deliver them on TV, and contribute to digital and social platforms. You will be responsible for newsgathering, building relationships internally and externally, writing and producing key business stories and fronting the delivery for all platforms. With Europe as your primary focus, you must have proven experience in reporting on its economy, markets, and business landscape. You will also be responsible for developing a strong network of sources to generate proprietary stories unique to CNBC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Appear on air as a broadcast presenter and conduct ‘live’ interviews from the Company’s studio
  • May be required to produce and/or report stories from the field.
  • Write clean, clear and accurate news copy
  • Develop financial and business news knowledge
  • Contribute and develop story ideas and develop and invite guests to CNBC shows.
  • Develop sources and generate independent reporting
  • Present live segments and work to develop CNBC’s live, real-time format looking for ways to incorporate breaking news whenever possible.
  • Work closely with each member of a production team.
  • Communication with producers, production team, news editors, other anchors, reporters and correspondents, and operations staff.
  • Participate in planning, production and execution of shows, jumping in to help in whatever capacity is needed.
  • Work with the company’s marketing department as requested to promote CNBC.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience and Requirements
  • Proven experience in business and/or financial news writing and reporting live, breaking news
  • Experience in presenting and adapting stories across multiple platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of business news, financial markets and global current affairs
  • Ability to handle deadline pressure and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in written and spoken English language
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a similar role
  • Familiarity with using key newsroom systems and applications
  • Background in working for a leading wire service or business news organization
