Job description

Key Responsibilities

To provide a professional, proactive and sensitive service to bereaved relatives, while ensuring the Trust's statutory obligations are fulfilled.

To take part in continuously reviewing practice and develop policies incorporating national guidance and Human Tissue Authority legislation.

To work closely both within and outside the Trust to meet individual needs, collaborating with Bereavement Services and other pathology departments.

To promote awareness of bereavement issues in a multi‑faith, multi‑cultural environment.

To observe the Trust’s rules, policies and all statutory requirements; maintain strict confidentiality of personal information; and adhere to infection control, hygiene and safeguarding procedures.

• Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of patient and staff information.
• Participate in mandatory safeguarding children and adults training, and be familiar with reporting procedures.
• Report safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Adhere to infection control and hygiene procedures as per the National Code of Practice and local policies.
• Contribute to personal development and support the development of colleagues.
• Maintain a ‘nhs.net’ email account for official communication.
• Promote inclusion, equality, and respect in all interactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑site services, including the Princess Royal University Hospital.
