Job summary

Starling Bank in the UK is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead a team of analytics engineers, partnering with stakeholders to prioritise key business needs. You will own and improve a large analytics estate serving multiple functions, deliver cross‑functional data initiatives end-to-end, and maintain Fraud & AML reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive analytics engineering background with expert SQL and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience with dbt to build well-structured, tested data models.
• Proficiency with Looker or a comparable BI tool.
• Track record of managing, supporting, and developing analytics engineers.
• Strong project management capabilities, prioritising cross-functional data initiatives.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Solid understanding of data governance and risk management.
• Desirable: experience with fraud, AML or financial crime data; regulated financial services environment; cloud data warehouses; CI/CD; Git with peer-review workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of analytics engineers.
