About This RoleWe're on the lookout for an Analytics Engineer to join our Food Discovery Algorithms team. This dynamic group is responsible for building machine learning-driven features that help our customers discover the restaurants and dishes they'll love. In this role, you'll thrive in a data-driven environment, collaborating closely with data scientists, product managers, analysts, and engineers to ensure our data is reliable, suitable, and user-friendly.
As a self-starter with a passion for data, experimentation, and machine learning, you'll navigate uncertainty and evolving requirements as we adapt to new insights. While prior experience in machine learning isn't necessary, you should be confident working with large datasets and eager to collaborate, learn, and solve problems.
Your Key Responsibilities Design and Implement: Create datasets using ETL pipelines in SQL for various purposes, such as training models or evaluating feature performance. Ensure these datasets are quality assured, well-documented, and equipped for anomaly detection.
Collaborate: Work with product, engineering, and data science teams to gather requirements and define product features based on your data insights.
What You Bring to the Team SQL Experience: Proficient in SQL with a knack for improving query efficiency.
Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze data, plot distributions, and describe dataset qualities with a statistical mindset.
Data Quality Management: Experience handling data quality issues and making informed decisions based on domain knowledge.
Effective Collaboration: Strong ability to work with product, IT stakeholders, and colleagues.
Bonus Skills: Experience with web and app tracking implementations in customer-facing or e-commerce applications, as well as familiarity with Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and event-driven architecture.
