Job summary

Deel is seeking a data analytics engineer to design, build, and maintain data models, pipelines, and metrics across the business. You will collaborate with data analysts and analytics engineers, using dbt, SQL, Python, and BI tools to ensure reliable, well-defined data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., CS, Math, Physics).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar data analytics engineering or BI development role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with BI platforms (Looker/Tableau) and Python for data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models that align with data architecture and business needs.
  • Manage data pipelines end-to-end from extraction to transformation and loading.
  • Use complex SQL and macros to transform data and optimize queries.
  • Incorporate data quality checks and cleansing to ensure reliability.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to ensure consistent metrics and definitions.
  • Lead portions of meetings or share improvements to analytics workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models (e.g., in dbt) that align with the overall data architecture and business requirements.
  • Manage data pipelines end-to-end, from data extraction to transformation and loading, to provide timely and correct data for analysis.
  • Utilize complex SQL queries and macros to transform data efficiently, optimizing queries for performance as needed.
  • Incorporate data quality checks and cleansing routines to ensure datasets are reliable and accurate.
  • Work closely with data analysts and other analytics engineers to ensure consistency and accuracy in metrics and definitions across the team.
  • Contribute to team processes by occasionally leading portions of meetings or sharing improvements to analytics workflows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar data analytics engineering or BI development role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling tools (such as dbt) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or similar).
  • Basic programming skills in Python or a similar language for data processing and automation.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple data projects, troubleshoot data issues, and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.

  • Our salary range reflects gross base salary. For commercial roles with commission eligibility, this figure represents On-Target Earnings (OTE), inclusive of base salary and target commission.
  • Salary ranges are quoted in USD as a consistent global reference. Your offer will be localized to your country's currency using a market-aligned conversion.
  • Final pay is based on objective, job-related criteria including experience, skills, and location.
