Job summary

Fitch Ratings, based in London, is seeking a Senior Associate to help build autonomous data workflows and semantic models for enterprise analytics. You will contribute to AI-enabled features and prototype proofs-of-concept while collaborating across a global team.

The role emphasizes independent work, end-to-end delivery, and impact on data-driven decision-making, with exposure to enterprise data sources and modern tooling in a high-impact setting.

Qualifications

  • We require a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • We require evidence that you can deliver in real-world settings, such as 1–3 years of experience, internships, or substantial end-to-end projects.
  • We require strong programming skills in Python, with the ability to write readable, testable code and ship working solutions.
  • We are looking for genuine curiosity about AI, LLMs, and the evolving analytics landscape, supported by personal projects, writing, contributions, or experimentation.
  • We expect familiarity with some of the following: SQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and version control (Git).
  • We need the ability to work independently, scope tasks, manage time, and make pragmatic trade-offs to deliver value with minimal supervision.
  • We require strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks would make you stand out.
  • Exposure to semantic layer technologies or knowledge graph tooling would make you stand out.
  • Familiarity with BI platforms and their extensibility models would make you stand out.
  • Understanding of vector databases, RAG architectures, and embedding-based retrieval would make you stand out.
  • Experience with containerisation and/or CI/CD pipelines would make you stand out.
  • Exposure to data modelling, including dimensional modelling, and/or metadata management would make you stand out.

Responsibilities

  • We will have you help build and iterate on autonomous and semi-autonomous agent workflows that retrieve, reason over, and act on enterprise data.
  • We will have you contribute to semantic models, including metrics, definitions, and metadata, that help business users query data consistently.
  • We will have you prototype LLM-enabled features for summarisation, insight narration, and conversational analytics, and help evaluate what is production-ready.
  • We will have you turn ideas into working proofs-of-concept quickly, learning through iteration and feedback.
  • We will have you work with the team to connect prototypes to enterprise data sources using modern tooling, with an emphasis on quality, reliability, and security.
  • We will have you help define tests and evaluation criteria, including accuracy, latency, cost, and user impact, to support decisions on what to scale.
