Job summary

Deerfoot IT Resources Limited is seeking an Analytics & Automation Test Engineer to join a remote team with occasional travel to the Letchworth office. The role focuses on testing data platforms, AI-driven testing, and RPA, using AI tooling to create and validate tests across multiple delivery teams.

You will work with SQL, Python and AI tools to validate data flows, AI agent outputs, and reporting across Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Some testing experience or a technical background with an interest in testing.
• SQL proficiency and ability to query relational databases.
• Some Python (or R) for data validation or test automation.
• Hands-on use of AI tools and ability to validate outputs.
• Structured, detail-focused with ability to work across several teams.
• Desirable: Playwright MCP, Selenium or Puppeteer, API testing, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, UiPath, cloud platforms, CS degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across several delivery teams.
• Use AI tools to generate and execute tests, then validate the output.
• Test an AI agent, APIs and end-to-end data flows, including transformations and errors.
• Validate data warehouse, lakehouse and reporting outputs on Azure Synapse, Fabric, Power BI and Tableau.
• Test UiPath RPA processes against documented business rules, including happy paths and exceptions.
• Write SQL queries and lightweight Python scripts to reconcile data and support root cause analysis.

Analytics & Automation Test Engineer
Remote (Occasional Travel to Letchworth office)

Are you early in your testing career and keen to work somewhere AI is already part of how testing gets done? This Analytics & Automation Test Engineer role is a chance to test data platforms, integrations, RPA and an AI agent, all in one job.

You'll be the floating tester across a Data Platforms and Analytics function, covering the middleware, data analytics, RPA and data platform teams. Rather than hand-writing every script, you'll use AI tooling to write and run tests, then apply your own judgement to validate the results.

It's a role for someone with genuine technical curiosity who wants broad exposure fast, and you'll help shape how testing is done across the department.

What You'll Be Doing

• Planning and running functional, regression, integration and user acceptance testing across several delivery teams
• Using AI tools, including an in-house LLM-based tool, to generate and execute tests, then checking and validating the output
• Testing an internally built AI agent, APIs and end-to-end data flows, including transformations, error handling and exceptions
• Validating data warehouse, lakehouse and reporting outputs built on Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Tableau
• Testing UiPath RPA processes against documented business rules, covering happy paths, exceptions and performance
• Writing SQL queries and lightweight Python scripts to reconcile source-to-target data and support root cause analysis

What You'll Bring

• Some experience in testing or QA, or a technical background with a real interest in moving into testing
• Working SQL and the ability to query relational databases
• Some Python (or R) for data validation or test automation
• Hands-on use of AI tools such as ChatGPT or LLM-based coding assistants, and the judgement to check what they produce
• A structured, detail-focused approach and the confidence to work across several teams at once
• Desirable: Playwright (especially Playwright MCP), Selenium or Puppeteer, API testing, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, UiPath, cloud platforms, a degree in Computer Science or a related subject
