Plan, execute and evaluate laboratory studies through hands‑on experimentation, using scientific knowledge and data interpretation to support project decisions.

Provide analytical expertise across development laboratory and pilot plant projects at Speke and, where required, across Elanco's global network.

Interpret analytical data, identify potential Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), product/process‑related impurities and stability requirements, and translate findings into appropriate development strategies.

Plan and execute analytical method validations and fit‑for‑purpose studies to meet project requirements.

Communicate project progress and scientific findings effectively to technical teams and global stakeholders and produce high‑quality, peer‑reviewed technical documentation.

Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety, quality and Good Research Practice requirements.

  • Hands‑on experience in analytical method development, preferably 2+ years, or relevant research experience such as a PhD.
  • Strong understanding of protein chemistry.
  • Practical expertise in developing and optimising analytical methods, particularly HPLC, UV, ELISA and CE‑SDS.
  • Understanding of CQAs, process‑and product‑related impurities and stability requirements within biopharmaceutical development.
  • Experience planning and executing analytical method validations or fit‑for‑purpose studies.
  • Ability to work according to Good Research Practices and produce high‑quality scientific and technical documentation.
  • Strong scientific curiosity, problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Experience supporting biopharmaceutical, biologics or vaccine development from early through later development phases.
  • Experience interpreting structural analytical data, including mass spectrometry, or experience with cell‑based assay data.
  • Experience supporting analytical method technology transfers or collaborating with external scientific organisations.
  • Strong learning agility and the ability to quickly develop expertise in new scientific areas in response to evolving project and business needs.
