TransUnion UK is seeking an Analytical Consultant to help organisations unlock value from data by delivering analytical solutions and strategic recommendations that support business growth, risk management, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
You will work on client engagements with data scientists and solution consultants, applying descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to transform insights into actionable business actions and measurable outcomes.
TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview The Custom Analytics team helps clients make informed business decisions by delivering data-driven insights, advanced analytics, and tailored consulting solutions. Working across industries such as financial services, insurance, and telecommunications, the team combines analytical expertise with industry knowledge to solve complex business challenges and support client growth, risk management, and operational performance. Team members work closely with clients, data scientists, and solution consultants to transform data into actionable recommendations that drive measurable outcomes. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Custom Analytics. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
As an Analytical Consultant, you will help organisations unlock value from data by delivering analytical solutions and strategic recommendations that support business growth, risk management, customer outcomes, and operational performance. You will work on a variety of client engagements, combining analytical expertise with consulting skills to address complex business challenges and translate analytical findings into meaningful business actions. This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in advanced analytics, client consulting, and data storytelling while working alongside experienced analytics professionals on high-impact projects. Partner with data scientists and solution consultants on client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics across the consumer lending lifecycle. Apply analytical techniques such as segmentation, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within large datasets. Design and develop data extraction, transformation, and analytical solutions to support client and business objectives. Deliver clear, impactful insights and recommendations through presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Translate complex analytical findings into practical business actions that support customer, growth, operational, and risk‑management outcomes. Analyse large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that help clients improve decision‑making and business performance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop tailored analytical solutions aligned to client requirements. Support the successful delivery of client projects by ensuring analytical outputs are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business objectives. Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing team culture that promotes innovation, continuous learning, and excellence in client delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, or another highly quantitative or scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Professional experience delivering analytical solutions within industries such as financial services, insurance, telecommunications, or related sectors. Experience applying analytical and statistical techniques to solve business problems and generate actionable insights. Demonstrated success working directly with clients or stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate analytical findings. Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.
Advanced programming skills in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modelling, and data manipulation. Experience extracting, transforming, and analysing large datasets using analytical and data‑processing tools. Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques and analytical methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for analysis, reporting, and presentation delivery. Experience developing analytical solutions and presenting findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Experience working with Spark or other large‑scale data processing technologies. Exposure to predictive modelling techniques, including logistic regression and segmentation methodologies. Experience supporting credit risk, customer analytics, marketing analytics, or decisioning programmes. Knowledge of consumer lending portfolios and the customer lifecycle within financial services. Experience working within consulting, professional services, or highly client‑focused analytical environments.
