An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Performance and Data Analytics team for a skilled and motivated Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development, maintenance and evolution of the Force's Resource Allocation Modelling (RAM) capability.

Working at the heart of strategic decision-making, you will use data, statistical analysis and innovative analytical approaches to help ensure that resources are aligned effectively to operational demand. Your work will directly support senior leaders in understanding current and future resource requirements, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring that Kent Police continues to deliver an effective service to the public.

Whether you are an experienced analyst looking to specialise in workforce and demand modelling, or an analytical professional seeking to apply your skills in a dynamic public sector environment, we would like to hear from you.

As a Performance Analyst, you will:

  • Produce high-quality analytical products, dashboards, reports and visualisations that support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Extract, cleanse, validate and analyse data from multiple sources to ensure robust and reliable analytical outputs.
  • Support the ongoing development, maintenance and stability of Kent Police's Resource Allocation Modelling tool.
  • Analyse workforce, demand and performance data to identify risks, pressures and opportunities for organisational growth and efficiency.
  • Provide timely insight into resource versus demand, supporting forecasting, risk identification and the detection of inefficiencies.
  • Maintain an objective, evidence-based assessment of resource requirements across the organisation.
  • Present complex analytical findings clearly and professionally to a range of audiences, including senior leaders and operational stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of new analytical methodologies and modelling approaches as organisational requirements evolve.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge through qualifications (for example, a maths-based A-Level or equivalent) and/or practical application of statistical techniques within an analytical role.
  • Confidence working with data and technology to produce analytical products, including dashboards, reports and data visualisations, using Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end analytical work, including data extraction, cleansing, validation, statistical analysis and the production of insight that informs decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical and statistical concepts to non-technical audiences.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of:

  • Power BI, Power Query and/or SQL.
  • Resource allocation modelling, workforce planning or demand forecasting.
  • Using a range of analytical techniques including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analysis.
  • Applying analytical skills within policing, criminal justice or the wider public sector.
