Theatres at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr hospital specialise in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT, Breast Surgery, Gynaecology and Urology. We are a supportive, friendly department which is strongly centred on teamwork and patient care. Key responsibilities and role details
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) – NMC registered with recognised anaesthetic qualification or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) – HCPC registered.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the operating theatre. Full support will be given to any candidate motivated to join our team.
  • A full orientation programme will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate commitment to their personal development and a keen interest in the progression of theatre services and perioperative care.
  • The theatre at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr provides support to our other Health Board Sites when required. Therefore the successful candidate is required to be flexible to the service.
  • Applicants must be an Anaesthetic Theatre Practitioner Nurse.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
  • We require excellent communication skills, reliability, a hard‑working attitude, and the ability to work well within a team.

  • Previous experience working in a critical care environment, theatre department or postoperative surgical setting
  • Recovery experience
  • Ability to travel within a geographical area to meet the requirements of the post
