Overview

Operating Department Practitioners or Anaesthetic Nurses with Anaesthetic UK Qualifications and Experience essential. UHD theatres - primary base Poole Hospital.

theatre practitioners across all our service areas. This role is part of an expanding and transforming service with a focus on quality, safety, transformation and service development. We are increasing our operating theatre suite and are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic people to join the Anaesthetic Team in our expanding theatre department delivering a 24 hour service.

This role is specifically for a Trained Anaesthetic Practitioner with UK Anaesthetic qualification and experience. The role will involve cross site working with Poole Hospital (base site) and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. A current UK Registration and UK Anaesthetic qualification are required.

Base Location: Poole Hospital with cross site working required. Full flexibility shift working 24/7/365. Interview Date: 18th November 2025.

Responsibilities / What you’ll do

Support in the safe delivery of care and engage with trust transformation and strategic vision. Work with multi-professional colleagues to provide a 24 hour operating theatre service. Join an extensive theatre team with multiple skills to enable you to gain further knowledge and advance your career. The role involves working across service areas including Orthopaedics and Trauma, Head and Neck, Obstetrics, General, Gynae, Day surgery, Urology, Vascular, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, Emergency and Recovery.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Current UK Registration
  • UK Anaesthetic qualification
  • Trained Anaesthetic Practitioner with UK Anaesthetic qualification and experience
  • Willingness to work cross-site and on a 24/7/365 basis
  • Dual or multi-skilled practitioners are encouraged, but must be trained in anaesthetics practice
Location & Travel

Base Location: Poole Hospital; cross-site working with the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Travel from home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute where relocation occurs, and excess mileage reimbursement may not apply in some cases.
