About the Role
As an AML Compliance Supervisor you will be working within the Savills UK Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) compliance team covering all client types in accordance with the Money Laundering Regulations and other financial‑crime related regulations for Savills UK clients and counterparties. The role involves day‑to‑day management of a "pod" of AML Analysts. This demanding role operates within a high‑volume environment alongside existing AML Compliance Supervisors to process client due diligence checks, including reviewing and approving CDD/EDD/Adverse/Sanctions checks carried out by the AML team.
The Compliance team covers all regulatory aspects across Savills UK. It ensures that our business is compliant by providing policy, advice and training on areas such as Client Acceptance & AML, Estate Agent Act, Code of Conduct, Fraud & Bribery Policy, and the completion of client due diligence checks. We are a dynamic team that is passionate about our responsibility, always seeking best practices and improving ways to protect Savills and our clients from regulatory risk.
Full‑time (7.5 hrs – initially 09:00 to 17:30, with the option to move to 08:30‑17:00 or 09:30‑18:00 after probation).

Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance to the AML team on complex and/or high‑risk (PEP/EDD/Adverse/Sanctions) AML cases in accordance with the Regulations.
- Review and approve higher‑risk cases carried out by the AML team in line with regulatory standards.
- Act as escalation point for the AML team to liaise with internal stakeholders (Fee Earners/Admin Reps) and clients/solicitors to resolve issues.
- Oversee a small team ("pod") to ensure CDD checks are completed within the time frames set by Savills UK procedures and compliance management.
- Obtain and review information for corporates and private individuals from relevant sources (e.g. Companies House) and determine further information requirements.
- Provide AML training to the wider Savills business and the AML team.
- Act as a point of contact for Savills business divisions, including routine meetings with business heads, proactive management of business escalations, dealing with business queries, fostering good relationships, providing advice and bespoke case‑management solutions.
- Provide line management to AML team members, including regular catch‑ups, feedback, support through probation, appraisals and ongoing development.
- Complete tasks for and support AML Compliance Managers/Head of Compliance/MLRO, liaising through to resolution.
- Balance internal procedures and business needs to assess and approve AML processing team risk‑based approach requests in accordance with the Regulations.
- Produce in‑depth written analysis and detailed reports concerning AML and CDD.
- Maintain working knowledge of the current Money Laundering Regulations and their application within the team.
- Proactively implement changes to AML procedures in line with regulatory updates.
- Identify potential enhancements in AML team processes and procedures.
- Take an active role in the recruitment process for the AML team, including conducting interviews and participating in assessment days.
- Undertake general day‑to‑day management of the AML Compliance team and promptly escalates any relevant matters to Compliance Management/Head of Compliance.

Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a team – essential for direct line management of around six team members of varying experience.
- At least five years' experience in AML/CDD/KYC.
- Experience of managing a small team.
- Two years' experience of QA/sign‑off, including high‑risk cases.
- End‑to‑end AML experience.
- Strong knowledge of regulations.
- Strong entity‑type experience.
- Proven experience working across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, Terrorism Act 2000, and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group Guidance.
- Working knowledge of HMRC’s AML guidance desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
